University of Derby

This project saw students from the Leisure & Tourism sector creating destination guides for use by our group Travel Experts & our customers. Once the project was complete, the content was sent through to our in house creative team, who in their classic style, jazzed them up with some STA Travel Education branding, but the content is all from students.

For our work with this university STA Travel Education were nominated for the Employment Awards as Supplier of the year.

Lisa Wakefield: “Working with STA Travel Education on the Educational Destination Guides has given our students a great insight into marketing and writing for different audiences within the travel industry. The team at STA Travel (Molly & Lauren) have been into the university to help advise and work with our second-year students. Each session has been lively and engaging; the students have loved the sessions and feedback has been extremely positive. We are hoping to work on a similar project next year.”

“I think that this project is more interesting in comparison to others I have done. It will also be good to see the travel guide actually being used, I hope it will future my career.”

“Compared to the other projects I have done, this has been a lot more exciting & interesting & may help with the different projects in the future.”

University of Gloucestershire

In a similar bid to support the learning of university students, this year we launched an exciting new project with Leisure & Tourism students. The task saw students creating & presenting brand new educational itineraries. We were so impressed with the work from student Cheryll, that we now sell her trip. Neat huh?
University of Gloucestershire
Nadine: “The involvement of STA Travel Education in designing a live brief for our students is an excellent example of the kind of study environment that we are trying to create – one that enables students to develop innovative products and solutions, whilst being aware of the wider context that they are working in. The University is committed to developing graduates who are engaged, enquiring, empowered, empathetic and ethical in their approach towards business and entrepreneurship. The ethos of STA Travel as a globally responsible business resonates with exactly these attributes. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Adele Wise and Molly Chapman, whose professionalism and passion for the travel business have been a true source of inspiration and brought the subject to life.”
