WWI Battlefields suggested itinerary

If you’re struggling to create the perfect school trip to the WWI Battlefields, then fear not! That’s where we step in! Check out our school trip battlefields itinerary below, and don’t forget we can tailor this to your learning objectives.

Day 1

Your group will head to Dover, then cross over to Dunkirk and continue the journey onto Ypres. It’s here your students will have some free time to check out the town centre and, more importantly, check out the chocolate shop! From here, students will head to the Flanders Museum, before checking in and enjoying their evening meal. That’s enough history for one day we think!

Day 2

The second day is jam-packed from start to finish! In the morning, students will be ticking off the Tyne Cot Cemetery & Langemark German Cemetery. From here, students will be paying their respects at Newfoundland Memorial Park in Beaumont Hamel. Students will then visit the Lochnagar Crater, created in the First World War! Then your group will be heading to memorials: Ulster Tower & the Thiepval Memorial. The final stop of the day will be the Armistice Museum in Compiegne. It’s here they will bring their WWI knowledge up to speed.

Day 3

On the morning of their final day, students will be visiting Versailles Palace. From here students will journey back to Calais before heading home. Now that’s the first World War Battlefields tour complete!
