CALI FOR NIA
California, the cool kid of the United States. Where surfers flock and punctuality means nothing. Home of Los Angeles, San Diego and the mighty San Francisco. Who knew one state could pack so much in? On a study trip your students will discover start-ups in Silicon Valley and the outdoors in Yosemite all before spotting the Golden Gate bridge.
Looking for an educational tour? Take a look at some sample attractions California has to offer & don't forget we can tailor itineraries to suit your curriculum objectives.
Land at LAX airport to begin your trip with a transfer to your accommodation. From there students, will start their trip on a high and visit the famous Hollywood Sign and take a few travel snaps. Afterwards head downtown for your first group meal and see the Hollywood walk of fame to spot a few famous names. In the afternoon, the group will visit Paramount pictures, Warner Bros Studios and Sony pictures, followed by Disneyland and The Griffith observatory. In here, the group will take in some of California’s finest views, while learning a thing or two about the stars.
In the morning, students will visit California’s Hollywood Museum to give creative students a unique way of gaining inspiration. Afterwards, the dangerous by name, but beautiful by nature Death Valley is something your students can’t miss. Just make sure you pack lightly and bring plenty of water as it’s hot down here, very hot! (For an even more incredible experience, we recommend visiting the valley at night for a night of perfect star gazing). In the evening, the group will be driving along California’s coastal highway to discover geographical hotspots.
Catch your early, short flight to San Francisco to begin the last leg of your California tour. Students will dump their bags in their accommodation and then head to the AT&T. Park to catch a San Francisco Giants MLB game, to help your students get into that ‘San Fran’ feeling. On the next day, your group will visit California’s most famous park by driving from San Francisco to Yosemite Valley. Here your students will be able to get up close and personal to nature and take in all the beautiful views. From hiking to seeing natural wonders such as Half dome and Yosemite Falls, your students will never want to leave.
Learn why they call San Francisco the ‘windy city’ and head over to Golden Gate Bridge and ponder at this astonishing architectural achievement, this is one for the Architecture students amongst your group. Feeling brave? Visiting the world’s most notorious prison is the group’s next stop: Alcatraz. We recommend taking part at a cruise of the San Francisco bay and a tour of the prison, so the group can learn more about the history of the Alcatraz. For the bravest amongst your group, the night tour of Alcatraz is a must!
Before heading home, on your last day take a trip to California’s quirkiest mountain and see Salvation mountain, where love is the definite message of the piece. Bright and colourful, beautiful and vibrant, your students won’t want to leave for the airport after seeing this mountain!
