It’s one for the senses: icy formations, thundering waterfalls and black beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see. Your students will get hands on with learning while making a big dent in their travel bucket list. Glaciers, urbanisation and human geography, this destination has it all!

Day 1

Touch down in Iceland, get accustomed with your accommodation and then head out for an educational afternoon. The first stop is the Perlan Museum, offering exhibitions on the latest in science and an immersive Iceland experience. At the Blue Lagoon, your students can dive into the water and enjoy a mud bath as they discuss the geothermal power of the surroundings.

Day 2

Rise early and spend a day exploring the town of Vik, here students can discover the modern wonders of urbanisation. In the afternoon students will get the chance to visit Seljalandsfoss one of the most beautiful waterfalls on the planet! From one waterfall to another, head over to 60m waterfall Skógarfoss before ending the day at black sand beach: Reynisfjöru.

Day 3

Today your group will spend a full day exploring the best bits of the island, be that naturally occurring or man-made. A visit to Þingvelli is the perfect chance for students to explore the geological significance, land formations and to capture some scenic snaps. The boiling mud pits, world renowned geysers and 100-foot explosions of water are ones only seen at Geysir. Those keen to get THAT Instagram picture will love the next stop: Gullfoss, this thundering waterfall spans across 3 staircases, frozen over in winter this still makes an awesome stop! The final adventure of the day is Hellisheiði power plant, a modern display of renewable energy, students can explore the real value of geothermal power. The day will be rounded off with a visit to Kerið Crater Lake. Your students will get the once in a lifetime opportunity to explore this unique formation.

Day 4

In the morning your group will head to the Krisuvik volcano. Here it’s all eruptions, tectonic plates and land formations. In the afternoon, take it easy with a trip to the Perlan Museum, where you can round up the learnings of your trip. Your group can then enjoy some free time to reflect on their trip before catching their evening flight home.
