A city renowned for its historical presence, beautiful scenery and those little delicious mini pancakes! Your students can dive straight into a historical and political adventure in the Dutch capital. We recommend Amsterdam for students exploring WW2 and those who are terribly hungry…

Day 1

Land in Amsterdam, drop your bags off at your accommodation and then head straight out to explore the city. In the afternoon your students will get a chance to explore Anne Frank’s House. A combination of official documents, memorabilia and videos will paint a picture of those in hiding during the war.

Day 2

Students will need to rise early in order to fit everything in! Start the day by visiting the Amsterdam Historical Museum which showcases the development of the city over the last 800 years, it’s a real celebration of the city. In the afternoon students can visit the Jewish Historical Museum which details the development of Judaism in the Netherlands.

Day 3

On their final day students will venture to the Dutch Resistance Museum. Students will be able to explore the role played by Dutch people during WW2. Changing exhibitions, videos and artefacts make this the most engaging way to explore the topic. Students can later enjoy some free time in the city before catching an evening flight back to the UK.
