In some months the country experiences 24-hour darkness and 24-hour daylight, due to its close proximity to the Arctic Circle. Even more bizarre, over 50% of Icelanders believe in the existence of fantastical beings such as elves and trolls!


From the unique rock formations found only in Iceland, to ashy abyss that is the lava fields. Natural phenomenon’s are literally round every corner. The most notable being Skaftafell National Park, here you can find the tallest mountain on the island. Grab your walking boots, there are plenty of glaciers and waterfalls to explore along the way. Lucky students can camp out, spotting the Northern Lights and the beautiful midnight sun!



If the stunning scenery isn’t enough to inspire your art students, then maybe the National Gallery of Iceland will? This museum is constantly changing to keep up to speed with the modern and contemporary collections. Older artwork in the museum dates back to the 19th Century. The gallery boasts famous names and the most valuable Icelandic artwork.



It’s the backdrop for some big-names, on the little and large screen. This small island is making a name for itself in the way of Hollywood blockbusters. Game of Thrones, Lord of the rings and Interstellar have all been shot on the scenic landscapes that only Iceland hosts. Glaciers, picturesque peninsulas and black sand beaches, make for perfect inspiration for all those creative students.

Day 1

Day 3

End your time in Iceland on a high, with a trip to the Blue Lagoon. Enjoy the healing powers of the hot springs and stunning views, leave Iceland feeling completely relaxed and ready to return to the UK.
