Arrive in Beijing, welcomed by your guide head over to your accommodation. Take a guided tour through Beijing’s Hutong areas before indulging in a welcome banquet which offers your students the chance to sample the local cuisine.
In the morning your students will take a trip to The Great Wall. Walking sections of the wall will give students the opportunity to give tourism topics some deep thought. In the evening your group will get the chance to see a stunning aerobatics show before returning back to your accommodation.
Today students will take a walking tour of the Tiananmen Square and visit the Forbidden City. In the afternoon students can visit the Olympic Park, home to the 2008 Olympic Games and Paralympics. Students can here think about urban development topics and rural/urban contrasts. In the evening your group can enjoy a tradition meal at a local restaurant. Take an overnight train to nearby Shanghai, where your next adventure awaits.
In the morning embark on the Huangpu River Cruise, spot landmarks and areas of development along the way. Later, students will witness the power of industrialisation by visiting the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, in the afternoon students can sample some of the finer things in life with a shopping trip to the famous Nanjing Road. In the evening you’ll enjoy a group meal.
Today you’ll take a trip to Hangzhou, visit West Lake to discover natural water ways and the Su Causeway. Students can explore why the local government spent billions cleaning up the local canals and what more can be done to protect the local environment. In the afternoon you’ll transfer to Beijing.
Enjoy your last day in Beijing with one final activity, a trip to Lama Temple and monastery. In the afternoon your students will catch their flight back to the UK.
