A historical adventure that birthed some of the most beautiful writings our country has ever known. Explore the land that brought us iconic poets including Wilfred Owens, Isaac Rosenberg and many more

Day 1

Once your group arrives in Ypres, your first stop will be the Tyne Cot Cemetery and Memorial the largest Commonwealth cemetery in the world. Then head over to Essex Farm Cemetery, this is where Major John McCrae wrote the famous poem ‘In Flanders Field’. In the afternoon, your group can visit Flanders Field Museum, to explore all aspects of WW1.

Day 2

Your group will rise early in the morning and travel to France. Here your group can visit the cemeteries of iconic war writers Edward Thomas and Isaac Rosenberg.  Afterward your group will get some real insight into the life of the WW1 troops with a guided tour through the tunnels and trenches of Vimy Ridge.

Day 3

Visit the High Wood in this morning, a significant location during the Battle of the Somme. Your students will be able to enjoy some free time before heading home.
